The Philadelphia 76ers have some concerns that need to be addressed this offseason. Specifically, who the team needs to bring back. Even after a disastrous season in 2025, the Sixers can justifiably attribute it to getting destroyed by the injury bug.

Philadelphia could run it back this offseason, but that means re-signing players like Guerschon Yabusele, who signed a veteran’s minimum contract with the Sixers in 2024 and will want a raise this offseason. PhillyVoice’s Adam Aaronson outlined the most optimistic way for the Sixers to keep Yabusele.

“The absolute perfect world for the Sixers is that Yabusele can be re-signed at a price not exceeding two years and about $11.6 million. That is the full amount of the taxpayer's mid-level exception, which would be the ideal path to signing a new deal with Yabusele,” Aaronson wrote.

Aaronson then explained the problems that could arise if Philadelphia signs the French forward to a figure higher than that.

“Dipping into the non-taxpayer's mid-level exception immediately initiates a hard cap at the first apron, a number the Sixers would be barred from exceeding under any circumstances for the entire league year. That would make everything a tight squeeze for the remainder of the offseason and possibly doom the team's chances of keeping Kelly Oubre Jr. around,” Aaronson wrote.

Yabusele put up career-highs across the board for Philadelphia, averaging 11 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 50.1% and 38% from three. There won’t be much available cap room across the league this offseason, which works in the Sixers’ favor. The question will be whether a competitor would be willing to offer more than Philadelphia would be comfortable with.
