The Los Angeles Lakers made the biggest trade deadline move in recent memory back in February. The 17-time champions acquired Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris from the Dallas Mavericks for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick.

While Doncic has played great for his new franchise, they have suffered tremendously from the loss of Davis' size and defensive prowess. Kleber, who has yet to make his team debut as he is recovering from right foot surgery, could provide the Lakers with a boost in both departments.

The veteran big man has been upgraded to questionable for Game 5 of Los Angeles' first-round matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Dave McMenamin of ESPN shared the news, tweeting:

"Maxi Kleber, who has been out since Jan. 25 (prior to LAL trading for him) while recovering from right foot surgery, has been upgraded to questionable to be available to make his Laker debut in Game 5 against MIN"

It is unclear if Kleber would be on a minutes restriction, if he is able to play. Either way, his availability would provide Los Angeles with a big boost as they look to come back from a 3-1 series deficit.

The Lakers have gotten next to nothing from the center position. Starter Jaxson Hayes has averaged just 7.6 minutes per game, while backup Alex Len has played just four total minutes -- all of which came during garbage time.

Meanwhile, Kleber could also help Los Angeles' bench unit, which has also provided little production throughout the series. The eight-year veteran is a career 35.4% shooter from three-point range and should help space the floor offensively.
