The Nuggets and Clippers both won their final regular season games to earn their respective seeds.

Although they each avoided the play-in tournament, it doesn't feel quite like a reward for either side. Denver and Los Angeles are fierce teams, so this matchup will be anything but easy.

The Nuggets still have the best player in the series, and perhaps the NBA, in Nikola Jokic. The center is a top two candidate in the MVP race, which would be his fourth if he wins. He became just the third player to average a triple double in a season and led the Nuggets to another 50-win season.

Denver lost to the Timberwolves in seven games during last year's Western Conference semifinals. It failed to defend its 2023 title, but it seeks to regain the crown in 2025.

Meanwhile, the Clippers lost in the first round against the Mavericks last year. Leonard played just two of the six games and did not look like himself. He seems to be fully healthy and pairs with James Harden, who had a resurgent year.

The two veterans, Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac form a dangerous foursome in Los Angeles. While Jokic is playing his best basketball, it'll still be a challenge against a healthy Clippers team.
