Cody Rhodes Promo
Rhodes comes out to address is impending matchup next Saturday against Kevin Owens, but he's interrupted by Monday Night Raw's Chad Gable and American Made. Made says that Nick Aldis reached out to him about the upcoming transfer window and that Rhodes isn't the guy to look up to anymore because he's not been a good friend to Owens.
Rhodes responds by saying he sees a lot of himself in Gable, reminding him he was Shorty G before Chad Gable and admitting that he was Stardust. Rhodes starts to lean in on what Gable will do when he screws up American Made, leading to Gable say if he wasn't in a suit, he'd take Rhodes out. Offended, Rhodes tells Gable to go make the match happen.
Tiffany Stratton vs Elektra vs Naomi in US Women's Championship Qualifier
A big botch early on where Naomi slipped off the ropes while waiting for Elektra to charge over. In fact, there was a ton of bad execution in this match. Elektra Lopez has moves, but the timing of everything she was involved in was way too slow. Finally some semblance of rhythm when Naomi lands a split-legged moonsault on Elektra, but Stratton lands a slingshot Senton to interrupt the pin. That led to the Prettiest Moonsault and a win.
Stratton wins by pinfall.
Bianca Belair vs Piper Niven
After being jumped earlier in the show by Niven and Chelsea Green, the singles match takes place. Belair is nursing a rib injury from War Games, which as the focus of the early attacks, outside of the ring and once the match started. A big cross body by Niven sets the tone, but Belair slips out a suplex attempt, but not a vicous sidewalk slam. After a commercial break Niven's continues with the advantage with a mean Senton. Belair rolls out from a splash attempt and takes Niven's head back-and-forth to the top turnbuckles before landing a top rope cross body for a two count.
Belair escapes a Power Bomb and lands a spear, which was nice, but it's not enough. Niven lands a crucial belly-to-back but Belair recovers and lands a Spinebuster. She tries to land her moonsault but Niven gets her knees up. Then Niven lands the Piper Driver Power Bomb and somehow Belair kicks out. Niven to the second rope, but Belair stops her, gets Green in the ring, and lands the KOD of Niven on top of her homegirl. Then she pins Niven for the win.
Belair wins by pinfall.
Shinsuke Nakamura Promo
as soon as Nakamura makes his way to the middle of the ring to celebrate his coronation as the new US Champion, LA Knight's music hits and he comes out to interrupt. Knight demands his rematch for the title. Knight tells him he's not getting away with the mist again and breaks out his Mist Blockers. As Knight climbs into the ring, Andrade comes out to demand his chance at the champ. Just when Knight and Andrade start going at it, Andrade is attacked by Tama Tonga with Jacob Fatu charging Knight right after him.
With them two laid out, they turn to Nakamura, who takes a stance and starts leaking the mist juice from his mouth, keeping them from attacking him. He backs out the ring and Solo Sikoa directs more attacking, landing the Samoan Spike on Andrade first and then Knight.
He declares that just because they lost at War Games and are now down Bronson Reed and Tonga Loa to injury, The New Bloodline still runs SmackDown, challenging anyone from the locker room to come out and challenge them for supremacy.
Motor City Machine Guns (c) vs #DIY for SmackDown Tag-Team championship
Triple H didn't even wait until their match to do Street Profits dirty this time. Early in the show, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were jumped and unable to make their match, giving DIY the chance to step in. Tomasso Ciampa has been on one for weeks, as the unraveling of DIY has been foretold leading up to the match. But it was all a rouse! After arguing throughout the match, Johnny Gargano gets in the ring finally and with Ciampa distracting the ref, he lands a low blow on Chris Saban. A Superkick to Alex SHelley and a double kick to Saban allows a win and a new champions team.
DIY wins by pinfall and are new tag-team champs.
Kevin Owens Promo
Earlier in the show, Owens demanded that Michael Cole come out to his car, refusing to enter the arena. A comedic exchange in the car included Cole telling Owens to look in the mirror and Owens responded "I'm looking at a handsome man who's right!". Later he kicks Cole out the car, to call him back just so he can roll the window up in his face.
Cody Rhodes (c) vs Chad Gable in non-championship match
Gable goes to work early on the legs of Rhodes, both of them, with several moves. Rhodes hads a great Inverted Superplex from the top ropes. He later lands a Disaster Kick to Gables face and later a Cody Cutter before the Creed Brothers pull Gable out the ring to save him. The ref kicks American Made from ringside. Gable removes Rhodes' boot so he can lock in an ankle lock with even more torque. Rhodes gets out of it and lands a Cody Cuter from the top rope. Trying for a Cross Rhodes, Gable slips out and locks the ankle again. German Suplex by Gable but a missed Moonsault allows Rhodes to land a third attempt at the Cross Rhodes for the final nail.
Rhodes wins by pinfall.
After the win, Owens appears in the ring and puts a boot to Rhdoes' exposed ankle. The two begin to brawl, first in the ring, then out.
