Yankees' Jazz Chisholm gets awful injury news after big hit image

It was an odd sequence all the way around for Jazz Chisholm.

Hitting during the first inning on Tuesday in Baltimore, he needed a trainer to check on him in the middle of his at bat. It appeared Chisholm tweaked his side.

He stayed in the game for a moment, though.

And in that moment, Chisholm ripped a triple.

After the hustle to third base, though, Chisholm came out of the game.

It does seem pretty clear in the footage that Chisholm was laboring to finish off that dash to third base.

The Yankees announced about half an hour after the injury that they were deeming it "right flank discomfort."

It's a tough break for Jazz. He's been in a brutal slump since his red-hot start to the season.

This triple might've been what got him out of a rut. But we may not find out after he left the game.

An oblique injury would be a tough one for Chisholm, as that's such a crucial muscle area for a hitter.

Maybe it's not serious, and Chisholm comes back in a day or two.

But if it is, the Yankees go from having a third base dilemma to also having a second base dilemma.

The injury bug definitely hasn't been kind so far in New York this season.
