The Buffalo Bills may not have a super challenging Wild Card matchup in the first round of the 2024 NFL playoffs.  Week 16 started on Thursday, and the Denver Broncos faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers.  With the Chargers winning that game, they have now swept the season series versus the Broncos.

The two teams are now 9-6 on the season, and with the Kansas City Chiefs obviously winning the division, the Bills are paying attention to who falls into that 7th seed in the AFC standings.

Another huge important note here is that the Broncos also lost to the 5th-seeded Baltimore Ravens weeks ago, so as it stands right now, the Broncos are the overwhelming favorite to stay in that 7th seed, which means they would travel to play the 2nd seed.

Unless the Kansas City Chiefs collapse down the stretch, Buffalo is very likely hosting Denver in the Wild Card Round.  Now while this game would likely go in their favor, it's important to note that the Broncos did go into Buffalo back in 2023 and win on a walk-off field goal.

Sean Payton is also a better coach than Sean McDermott, so they'd have a coaching advantage.  Overall, though, the Bills should be glad that they may draw the Broncos in the first round, as any other team would probably present more of a challenge.  The Bills feel like the best team in the AFC this year, so the Wild Card Round could just be a formality for them if we're being honest.
