There's no better golfer on the planet right now than Scottie Scheffler.
He proved that emphatically this weekend at the Byron Nelson.
Scheffler finished the tournament an absurd 31-under par to win. He emerged victorious by eight strokes over Erik van Rooyen.
The 72-hole score overall for Scheffler was 253. That's tied for the lowest 72-hole score in PGA Tour history.
Scheffler led at the end of the first round and never looked back en route to the dominant victory.
It's his 14th overall victory on the PGA Tour.
He went 61-63-66-63, just an absurd display of consistent excellence.
Maybe the craziest stat of the whole weekend is this one:
Erik van Rooyen is playing with Scottie Scheffler in the final group. He started the day 8 back. Then he made four birdies and an eagle to shoot 6-under 30 on the front 9.

He's still 8 back. Scottie's absurd. pic.twitter.com/sDunycPOrA
In all, Scheffler had 29 birdies, three eagles and four bogeys.
There's just no keeping up with Scottie when he's on his game.
