The Seattle Storm just brought back Katie Lou Samuelson this offseason as a free agent.

She had previously played the 2021 season for the Storm.

But Seattle won't get Samuelson's services in the 2025 WNBA season after all.

The team announced Saturday that Samuelson tore the ACL in her right knee. The injury occurred during practice on Thursday. She'll miss the season.

Samuelson was the No. 4 pick in 2019 out of UConn.

She's now 27 and has played for Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Indiana.

Last season, Samuelson played for the Fever and averaged 4.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

The Storm had already lost two other players to AC injuries, guards Jordan Horston and Nika Muhl.

Now, Samuelson will have to look toward her rehab and the hope of a possible comeback next year.
