Mavericks' Kyrie Irving breaks silence on devastating injury with recovery update image

There have been so many crazy headlines surrounding the Dallas Mavericks it's easy to forget about Kyrie Irving's season-ending injury.

The Mavs' star suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee on March 3. He underwent surgery a few weeks later on March 25.

Since then, Irving's focus has been on rehabbing that knee. The timeline for an ACL injury is 6-12 months and experts estimate Irving may not return until 2026.

One fan on 'X' reached out to the point guard to ask how his recovery has been going.

Irving is not the most active on social media and doesn't interact with fans often, but this occasion was an exception.

He gave a promising update to Mavs' fans along with some uplifting advice for anyone listening.

It was a wholesome response from the star who has been maligned by previous fan bases he played for like the Celtics and Nets.

Since Irving arrived in Dallas in 2023, he has brought a veteran presence and spent much less time in the headlines for his off-court actions.

Now with the departure of Luka Doncic, the Mavericks are depending on Irving even more to be a leader on the team.

He won't be back on the court until the end of 2025 at the best, but Kyrie will have a deep group around him.

Anthony Davis will enter his first full season in a Dallas uniform, PJ Washington and Dereck Lively will be players that have chemistry with Irving, and promising young players like Brandon Williams and Max Christie will develop.

The future is bright for Kyrie Irving and the Mavericks.
