The New York Giants made a splash in the first round, trading up with the Houston Texans to get the No. 24 overall pick. With it, head coach Brian Daboll selected his quarterback of the future, selecting Jaxson Dart out of Ole Miss.
Dart, who became just the second signal-caller taken in this year's draft so far, will head to New York, which already has some veteran quarterbacks in place. In the offseason, the Giants signed both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.
With New York adding Dart to the roster, let's take a look at the Giants' new quarterback depth chart.

1. Russell Wilson
The Giants trading up to get a dynamic playmaker like Dart may mean Wilson could have some competition for the No. 1 quarterback spot. But when Wilson was signed to a one-year deal last month, the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that Wilson was expected to be the starter. Head coach Brian Daboll reiterated that after drafting Dart on Thursday evening:

Although it was rumored that the Giants could pick a signal-caller there, New York selected EDGE rusher Abdul Carter at No. 3. Lucky for the Giants, they still were able to take the quarterback they liked in this class, as Dart was still available in the late first round.
There's no question that Dart is talented, but he isn't going to start ahead of a Super Bowl Champion and 10-time Pro Bowler. Even if Wilson struggles early, it will likely take a lot for him to get benched in favor of the rookie quarterback.
2. Jaxson Dart
Although early in the draft process, Dart was seen far behind the likes of quarterbacks Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. But as the draft got closer, Dart received plenty of buzz linking him to teams needing a quarterback, like the Steelers and Giants. Daboll, specifically, was reported to be high on Dart a few days before the draft, as Sanders and the Giants had reportedly "cooled."
Jaxson Dart is a name to watch for the #Giants as a trade-up option on Thursday. Sources I touched base with said he’s someone Brian Daboll is high on — most out of QBs other than Cam Ward. Among qualities Daboll values in QBs is toughness. Dart has that.

MORE: Why the Giants opted for Jaxson Dart over Shedeur Sanders
Dart, who spent the last three seasons at Ole Miss, had his best season last year in Oxford. He finished throwing for 4,279 yards with 29 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also has plenty of dual-threat ability, rushing for 1,498 yards with 12 touchdowns over his three seasons with the Rebels. Daboll added Thursday more of what he likes about Dart, including his running ability:
"I like the way he plays. I like his competitive fire. I like his accuracy. I like his ability to push the ball down the field, his athletic ability to run with the football."

Barring a disaster of a start from Wilson, Dart likely will get to learn from Wilson for at least a season before taking the reins in New York.

3. Jameis Winston
When the Giants signed both Wilson and Winston at quarterback, it seemed a bit like overkill. But with the addition of a quarterback of the future in Dart, Winston adds even more veteran leadership to the Giants' room. The Giants have also had plenty of injury struggles at quarterback in the past, so having Winston on the roster to use off the bench as necessary puts New York in a great spot.
4. Tommy DeVito
Yes, Tommy Cutlets is still on New York's roster, as the Giants signed him to a $1 million contract earlier this offseason. For a while, DeVito was the lone quarterback on the Giants' roster before the Winston and Wilson signings. He'll likely be a practice squad guy for the season, but still can learn from a talented quarterback room.
