Shedeur Sanders draft party, explained: Despite slide, new Browns QB hosts Kodak Black, Dak Prescott, other stars image

Shedeur Sanders' nightmarish draft slide came to an end on Saturday afternoon when the Browns selected him in the fifth round.

The Colorado product enjoyed a starring role with the Buffaloes and appeared to hear his name far earlier than was actually the case. Unsurprisingly, masses of college football and NFL fans were left puzzled as picks came and went — even among QB needy teams — without Sanders being taken.

It would've been easy for the 23-year old to sulk his way through proceedings once his horror show of a nosedive came to a close. Instead, he danced and frolicked beneath glint nightclub lights, doing so alongside a motley crew of sports and pop culture standouts.

With that, here's what you nee to know about Shedeur Sanders' NFL Draft party.

Shedeur Sanders NFL Draft party

Sanders' draft slide might've had much of the football world in a frenzy. He cut a composed figure at his party, however, an endeavor that proved as star-laden as they come.

The celebration, held at Dallas' Hyde & Seek restaurant, saw numerous luminaries jaunt within its halls. Sanders, outfitted in a black tank top, backwards Browns cap and a mound of jewelry, looked overjoyed as music roared and champagne spilled in the vaunted night club. Sanders and his associates even lugged Louis Vuitton suitcases bursting with dollar bills.

Sanders also delivered a rendition of his hit tune, "Perfect Timing."

Draft season was far from perfect for Sanders, who fell hard after being ranked an early-round prospect by a great many evaluators. He spurned a green room invite, instead opting to watch along from his family's Dallas home as picks and rounds passed him by. He had to endure plenty of ridicule — and a prank call — before finding out where he would start his NFL career.

All told, though, it seems Sanders was able to make the most of the jamboree. Now comes the hard part: climbing up Cleveland's minefield of a QB room.

Was Deion Sanders at the draft party?

One notable absence in Sanders' festivity was his father, Deion Sanders. Colorado's head coach wasn't involved in the get-together. His whereabouts during the event remain unknown, although he fired up a tweet early Sunday morning lending support to his son as he starts up his big-league career:

How much money will Shedeur Sanders make?

Tipped to be an early-round selection, Sanders' fall to the fifth round certainly cost him some money. He hasn't yet inked his rookie contract. But early estimations from Spotrac and Over the Cap have him inking a four-year deal worth between $4.59 million and $4.65 million.

By comparison, Cam Ward will make $48.7 million across that same span. Giants hurler Jaxson Dart, meanwhile, is expected to reel in $17 million across four seasons, good for an average annual value (AAV) of $4.25 million. His projected signing bonus sits at $9 million, about two times as much money as Sanders will make outright during his deal.

Sanders' NIL riches should offer him some additional cushion as he attempts to hike up the Browns' depth chart. But make no mistake; his tumble down the draft board certainly took a serious dent out of his paycheck.
