The Denver Broncos have formally invited Wyatt Ekeler, brother of Washington Commanders running back, Austin Ekeler, to take part in their upcoming rookie minicamp, which takes place May 9-11. The Broncos aren't the only team taking a look at Ekeler as the Philadelphia Eagles have invited him to their minicamp as well.

Wyatt Ekeler, born in Colorado, played safety at the University of Wyoming. The Broncos did not draft a safety or bring in any safeties as undrafted free agents, so there could be room for some depth behind starters Talanoa Hufanga and Brandon Jones.

Ekeler's older brother has one of the more successful stories of any undrafted players in the last decade and will be entering his ninth season in the NFL in 2025.

Wyatt played in 48 games for the Cowboys and made 197 tackles with four interceptions and two sacks. He would be considered a longshot to make the team after his tryout, but if the Broncos see some potential for him to contribute on special teams, he could get a chance.

The Broncos have a healthy list of players coming in for tryouts during this minicamp and that list includes Chris Evans, a former sixth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals. It will be interesting to see if Evans or Ekeler can do enough to convince the coaching staff to give them a chance as part of the team's 90-man roster heading into the summer.
