Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has completely transformed.

No, literally. The trailer for A24's anticipated "The Smashing Machine" has just been released, and in it, Johnson seriously looks like a completely different person. Directed by Benny Safdi, the film sees the actor taking on the role of UFC fighter Mark Kerr during the peak period of his career when he was having both personal and professional struggles. Also starring Emily Blunt, alongside other notable names such as Lyndsey Gavin, Oleksandr Usyk, Ryan Bader and more, the movie is set for an October 3 release.

Johnson excited shared the teaser on Tuesday, captioning the post: "Excited to share the official trailer for Benny Safdie’s THE SMASHING MACHINE, starring Dwayne Johnson and Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt."

The comments were also surprised at Johnson's transformation, with one person writing, "The makeup department honestly did a good job here. Typically films will have an actor play someone from real life but they don't really try to make the actor look like the person. This is true film-making right here."

Johnson, recently reflected on the intense makeup process he had to undergo for the film during his cover story with GQ in December 2024 as part of their "Men of the Year” issue. "I look what I look like," Johnson said. "I am what I am. There is no: ‘'Oh, Rock is just gonna disappear.' You know what I mean? However, to be able to do that in "Smashing Machine," with the greatest of makeup artists — in a way, it was really freeing for me."

You can catch "The Smashing Machine" in theaters this fall.
