Browns’ Shedeur Sanders reveals what fuels him after NFL Draft slide image

For all the comments about the Shedeur Sanders negatives, he's so far shown himself to have a good head on his shoulders since being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round after a historic NFL Draft slide.

Sanders could be moping or bad-mouthing people.

Instead, he's getting to work.

A lot of that must stem from internal motivation.

Sanders spoke recently about where exactly he finds the fire inside him.

"What fuels me is my purpose in life and understanding the route that we're going to have to take," Sanders told EPSN. "Understanding that I was able to get an opportunity when a lot of people didn't want to give me an opportunity. So, that's what I'm truly thankful for. That's what fuels me."

Having gratitude in this situation is a huge deal.

Sanders is still getting the chance to be an NFL quarterback.

Frankly, he's with an organization that needs a QB savior. And is any of Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett or Dillon Gabriel actually more likely than Sanders to be that guy?

He may fail and fall flat on his face, sure.

But he's also going to get a real opportunity here to be a long-term NFL quarterback.

He can prove people wrong and be gracious along the way. That's a great thing.
