At 8-6, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers regained the NFC South lead and have put themselves in a solid position to reach the playoffs. They'll need to retool in the offseason if they'll want to become true contenders in the NFC, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Their pass rush certainly needs work and their boost could come from the NFC East. Bleacher Report predicts that the Bucs will sign Washington Commanders' edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr in 2025.
Fowler might not contribute much against the run, but he does have 53.5 career sacks in 138 games with 44 starts. Comparatively, the 30-year-old who turns 31 in August would lead the Buccaneers with 8.5 sacks this season. Additionally, he's from St. Petersburg, so this would be a homecoming for him.
After a few "down" years, Fowler Jr's been able to resurrect his career with an 8.5 sack explosion in Washington this season with three games left to play. Tampa Bay will have just over $24 million in cap space to work with in 2025, so they'll need to plan accordingly if they want to pursue Fowler Jr's services.
