Cowboys trade idea brings $110 million superstar to Dallas in blockbuster trade image

The Dallas Cowboys have a glaring need at wide receiver behind CeeDee Lamb. They neglected that need in the draft, but could still fill it through the trade market.

Before the draft, Jerry Jones revealed that the Cowboys are looking into two "substantive" trades. While he was not specific as to who the Cowboys were targeting, it could be a fair assumption that the team is looking into the receiver market. FanSided's Marcus Mosher suggested the team go after Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore.

"Moore is overmatched as a No. 1 receiver, especially if he has to play a majority of his snaps on the outside," wrote Mosher. "But he can be a high-end No. 2 receiver when given the ability to move around the formation. And that’s exactly what Dallas is looking for in a complement to Lamb. A player who can be used in multiple ways and has the size and ability to be dynamic after the catch."

Moore has 2,330 yards and 14 touchdowns in 34 games with the Bears. He did not eclipse 1,000 yards last season as the Bears offense was one of the worst in the league. However, with Dak Prescott as his trigger man and Lamb getting most of the attention from opposing defenses, Moore could have a career year.

Moore signed a four-year, $110 million extension before last season. However, the team has drafted Rome Odunze, Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III in the top 50 of the last two drafts. Odunze and Loveland were top 10 picks, and Burden could thrive in Ben Johnson's offense. Suddenly, the Bears have too many targets, and Moore is an aging, expensive one.

"As he enters this next stage of his career, being a true No. 2 receiver will help him stay productive," wrote Mosher. "Moore is currently the 11th highest-paid receiver in the NFL, but there is no guaranteed money beyond the 2026 season and with the cap going up, $23.4 million in base salary for each of the next four years is a pretty reasonable deal given his age and production. It would likely cost Dallas a Day 2 pick during the 2026 NFL Draft, but that is a very reasonable price for a quality player who is only 28."

Morre has 7,531 career receiving yards and 35 touchdowns. He is a clear upgrade over Jalen Tolbert as the team's No.2 option.
