The New York Giants' desire for Shedeur Sanders is a thing of the past.
But that doesn't mean they don't want a quarterback in this week's NFL Draft.
In fact, SNY's Connor Hughes reports that the Giants might be willing to make a trade to get one.
The Giants' first pick of the draft comes at No. 3 overall, where they are more likely to take a skill position star like Abdul Carter.
But that's when things get interesting.
Hughes reports the Giants might trade back into the first round with one specific target in mind: Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.
"Jaxson Dart is a name to watch for the Giants as a trade-up option on Thursday," Hughes writes. "Sources I touched base with said he’s someone Brian Daboll is high on — most out of QBs other than Cam Ward. Among qualities Daboll values in QBs is toughness. Dart has that."

Hughes acknowledges that many teams will be chasing quarterbacks, so anything the Giants do will likely have to be very aggressive.
Dart has a perfect QB name and would actually come to a solid setup in New York.
He wouldn't have to start right away, and he could learn from two well-established veterans in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.
The Giants could create a one- or even two-year runway for Dart to give him time to acclimate to the pro game.
But to get him, New York will almost certainly have to trade multiple future assets to get back into the first round and draft Dart. We'll see if they do so.
