Stephen Curry's right thumb might be the most important sporting right thumb on the planet.

And the whole NBA knows the Warriors legend is dealing with an injury to said thumb.

Rockets instigator Dillon Brooks seems happy to try and make it worse.

Early in Game 7 between Golden State and Houston, Curry launched a 3-pointer from the left wing.

Brooks closed out hard, and his contesting hand headed straight for Curry's shooting thumb.

Curry first seems to shake out the injured thumb a bit.

Then, he turns to the official running alongside him for a quick complaint.

It could be a foul anytime Brooks hits in that thumb area on the follow through.

But it's more important than a foul. If Brooks injures Curry by specifically targeting the in-pain thumb, it's worse than just giving away some free throws.

Golden State will struggle in Game 7, and potentially beyond, if Curry has to miss time.

The refs need to protect Curry's thumb from Brooks' seemingly bad intentions.
