The Duke basketball program is attempting to reload for future NCAA Tournament success. In doing so, it added the latest piece to its staff with the hiring of Evan Bradds as an assistant coach.

After an extensive college career, Bradds spent two stints in the NBA between 2018-2022 as a Video Analyst and Player Enhancement coach for the Boston Celtics before spending the last three seasons with the Utah Jazz as an assistant coach focused on player development.

Now with the Blue Devils, Bradds said in a statement that he is excited to get to work and learn under coach Jon Scheyer's wing at a premier institution.

"I am honored to be joining the Duke Basketball program and want to express my immense gratitude to Coach Scheyer for this opportunity," Bradds said. "I am looking forward to working alongside Coach Scheyer and the Duke team to help continue the long-standing tradition that is Duke Basketball."

Scheyer spoke highly of Bradds' accomplishments, emphasizing the need for growth in helping transition to the next level with a deep understanding of the NBA's culture after having experienced it across two franchises already.

"Evan brings an unbelievable basketball mind, NBA player development experience and a unique ability to build meaningful relationships with players—something that's core to our culture," Scheyer said. "His experience, vision and forward-thinking approach will help keep Duke at the forefront of college basketball. We're excited for what's ahead."

The Blue Devils are fresh off a Final Four appearance, as their season ended in dramatic, come-from-behind fashion, 70-67, at the expense of the Houston Cougars.

The Blue Devils finished the season 35-4 overall, as they were led by forward Cooper Flagg, who is expected to go No. 1 overall at the NBA Draft on Wednesday, June 25.

Scheyer will enter his fourth season in Durham this fall in an attempt to finish the story, but only time will tell.
