After a long time, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders finally heard his name called during the 2025 NFL Draft. The first two days of the draft came and went, but the Cleveland Browns ended Sanders' skid by selecting him at No. 144 overall, which came in the fifth round.
It was a stunning turn of events for Sanders, who was widely viewed as a first-rounder for quite some time. It has raised plenty of eyebrows, but now Sanders joins a loaded QB room in Cleveland that also features rookie Dillon Gabriel, who was selected on Day 2 of the NFL Draft by Cleveland.
Well, Deion Sanders, Shedeur's father and Colorado head coach, spoke out on the slide, via TMZ.com.
"You know how good God is," Deion Sanders answered when TMZ asked if he was pleased with how things turned out.
As it turns out, several NFL agents and coaches shared some intel on Sanders' draft free-fall, with one agent even saying "Is the juice worth the squeeze? And when the juice has some flaws, the squeeze of managing the personality and dad equal it not being worth it in a lot of instances."
So, there were plenty of surprising anecdotes that surfaced, but Deion Sanders is just thankful for his son to get the opportunity to play in the NFL.
