Shedeur Sanders predicted to end slide by landing on QB cursed team image

The biggest surprise of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft was Shedeur Sanders not hearing his name called. Quarterback-needy teams including the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers passed on the Colorado star in a surprising twist.

With Jaxson Dart going to the New York Giants at No. 25, it should be only a matter of time before Sanders hears his name called.

Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News had a new mock draft for Rounds 2 and 3, and he has the Cleveland Browns selecting Sanders at No. 36 overall.

"The Browns have the extra draft capital from not taking Sanders' teammate Travis Hunter in the first round, and they should use it to take a shot on his strong pocket passing upside for Kevin Stefanski's scheme."

Iyer has the Browns choosing Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III with the No. 33 pick and then waiting to select Sanders, so it would be a nice QB-WR duo in the second round.

The Browns QB revolving door has been a massive headache for the past years, and even acquiring Deshaun Watson has not softened that blow. So, maybe, finally, Sanders could solidify the position and spark some excitement back into the fanbase.

If not, well, maybe 2026 is the year the Browns select Texas star Arch Manning. You never know.
