The Shedeur Sanders saga is beginning to resemble the Nico Iamaleava situation that unfolded in Knoxville, with one key difference: Sanders is largely responsible for his own downfall. By now, it’s clear that Sanders experienced the steepest drop in the entire draft, falling from a projected late first-round or early second-round pick to a fifth-round selection.

It got so bad that some people were trying to figure out ways for him to return to Colorado, even though he had already forfeited his eligibility.

“Now, there's nothing participants in collegiate athletics love more than going to court, so perhaps Sanders could sue to try to regain his eligibility,” Robby Kalland wrote.

Sanders’ fall to the fifth round suggests that he's seen as little more than a camp body and may realistically never get a chance to start for the Cleveland Browns.

“The reality for Shedeur Sanders is this: As a 5th-round pick, it rarely matters how talented you are; you may never even get the opportunity to win the starting job,” Emmanuel Acho said. “Sometimes, as a 5th, 6th, or 7th-round pick, they are already cutting you. You are a camp body. You’re there for training camp.”

However, it was his sense of entitlement that caused him to fall so far. His self-centered attitude led NFL teams to remove him from their boards almost immediately.

Colin Cowherd then went on air and exposed Sanders for what happened during his interviews.

“Teams give you things to challenge you; they’ll have a player’s worst play ready for them and ask, ‘Why don’t you explain this?’ At one point, one of the few teams that were actually interested asked. Shedeur said, ‘Maybe I’m not the guy for you,’” Cowherd said.

If this is true, it's a terrible look for Sanders. Not wanting to improve or being unable to handle criticism will not sit well with any NFL team.
