Shedeur Sanders shared how his dad Deion really felt about his NFL Draft slide image

One only has to question why Shedeur Sanders fell the way he did in the 2025 NFL Draft. Surprising? Yes. Strange? Yes.

Whether it was a direct shot at his father, Deion Sanders, or teams not believing he was as good as some draft experts viewed him, Sanders fell. As a result, many fans have questioned what the motive was behind it.

Frustration seemed clear after everything that happened, but instead of being upset in the moment, Sanders continued to thank God. According to Fox Sports, Sanders' father had the same message.

"He said, ‘God got us.’ So that’s what it is," Shedeur said of his dad’s reaction. "I look at what went on and everything as a football game, you know, you may not come out early hot, you know, that may not happen. But you know, when it’s down to the final two minutes of the game, then you understand the level of seriousness raises the stakes.

"All the stakes raised and that’s why I thrive in those high-pressure moments. So I never felt any type of way, I never felt any type of way. I understood, ‘okay, this is the route’ and that’s it."

One of the greatest players in NFL history, it's very surprising to see Deion get the type of heat he has over the past few years. Some believe he's too flashy and cocky, but this is the same Deion it was many years ago.

He knows he's one of the best ever and is confident in everything he does.

"I wouldn’t look at that as that. I feel like everybody, God makes everybody have their own routes, and this is just my route," Sanders said about his father. "Like there’s nothing I would be able to go back and wish that wasn’t my dad because I’m truly thankful for him being there and the structure I have."

The No. 144 pick, Sanders is ready to show the Cleveland Browns why they made the right decision.
