With the WNBA Draft lottery now in the rearview mirror, all eyes will turn to the Golden State Valkyries, who will build out their roster at the WNBA expansion draft.

The Valkyries will draft from a designated pool of available players who are currently members of the other 12 WNBA teams. Those teams can protect up to six players on their rosters, leaving the unprotected players available to be selected by Golden State.

The Valkyries can select only one available player from each of the 12 WNBA teams. If a player is not currently signed for the 2025 season, Golden State can still acquire the rights to that player.

While the expansion draft will be an important step for the organization, the front office doesn't have to construct the entire roster in one night. The Valkyries will also participate in free agency and the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Here is everything you need to know about the WNBA expansion draft, including TV and streaming options for the event.
