The USA is coming off a shocking loss to Panama and is now in an almost must-win scenario if they want to stay alive in Copa America. Winning will be a tall task against Uruguay, the 15-time Copa America champion, who has won its first two games by two and five goals, respectively, amassing a tournament-leading eight goals.

The USA is a short favorite against Uruguay, according to odds across the sports betting marketplace.

USA vs. Uruguay odds: Spread, moneyline, total for Copa America match

Here are live Copa America betting odds for the USA vs. Uruguay Group C matchup at top-rated US sportsbooks.

The USA has a few paths to escape group play in the Copa America. They are tied for second in Group C with three points but have a better goal differential than Panama. If the USA and Panama lose, the USA would likely be in as long as they don't lose by two more goals than Panama does. A tie from both the USA and Panama would put the USA in the next round, and a USA win and a Panama win would get the USA in, as long as Panama doesn't win by two more goals than the USA.

USA betting news and analysis

USA has as much talent as any squad in program history but has been up and down, not finding the consistency that matches its talent. They got throttled by Colombia 5-1 in a friendly but followed it up with a tie against Brazil in their last warmup friendly before the Copa America. If the USA team that played against Brazil shows up tonight, they will give Uruguay all they can handle and have the potential to pull off the upset.

The USA will be without Tim Weah, who will serve the first match of his two-match suspension for his red card against Panama. Another question mark for the starting 11 is goalkeeper Matt Turner, who came off due to injury against Panama. His backup, Ethan Horvath, was shaky last Thursday night, allowing Panama's go-ahead goal despite getting both hands on the ball. If Turner is unavailable, it will be interesting to see if Gregg Berhalter starts Horvath or goes to Sean Johnson, who kept a clean sheet as the starting keeper the last time the USA played Uruguay, a 0-0 draw in 2022.

Uruguay betting news and analysis

Uruguay has had an excellent run of form leading up to and during its first two games of Copa America. In its last friendly before the competition, Uruguay took apart Mexico, winning 4-0. Six players have scored in for the side in Copa America, with Maximiliano Araújo and Darwin Núñez each tallying two goals.

They have also only allowed one goal in their last three matches, as their defense and goalkeeping have been very strong. This is a new generation of players for Uruguay, but there is plenty of talent, even if some of the names on the roster are not yet known around the world.

USA vs. Uruguay prediction

This match does not mean as much to Uruguay, as they are pretty much a lock to win Group C, so it is possible they rotate some of their lineup and give rest to some of their squad. This could be favorable for the USA, who will be playing with desperation. Expect a tight game, with the USA finding a late goal to win the match.
