Sean Payton was Taysom Hill's biggest supporter.

That's why now, after a few years apart, Payton is being linked with Hill once again.

Pro Football Network recently pitched the idea of a Hill trade from the New Orleans Saints to the Denver Broncos.

Hill, about to turn 35 and set to make $10 million in 2025, might not be worth it for the rebuilding Saints. But for the contending Broncos and Payton, it's a different story.

"With Sean Payton being Hill’s biggest supporter in the league, perhaps the Broncos coach could find a role for his Swiss Army knife," PFN writes.

Hill's availability is complicated by a torn ACL he suffered on Dec. 1, 2024. He likely won't be ready for the start of the 2025 season.

At his age and in his unusual role, Hill's recovery and possible return to form aren't easy to bet on.

In 2024, Hill ran 39 times for 278 yards and six TDs and caught 23 passes for 187 yards. He also completed 2-of-4 passes for 21 yards.

Payton would surely enjoy more time with Hill, and it'd be a great chance to supplement second-year QB Bo Nix with another offensive weapon.

Denver was a surprise playoff team in 2024, but the Broncos won't sneak up on anyone.

If they got Hill, he could recover for much of the season and then return in time for a dynamic playoff run. Sounds like he could be exactly what Payton needs.
