The New England Patriots used their first pick in the second round on a running back. With the No. 38 overall pick on Friday night, New England selected TreVeyon Henderson out of Ohio State.
Henderson was seen as one of the top running backs in this year's draft, along with the likes of Ashton Jeanty, his teammate Quinshon Judkins and Omarion Hampton.
For the Patriots, it marks the highest drafted running back since New England took Sony Michel in the first round of the 2018 draft.
Let's take a look at an updated look at the Patriots' running back depth chart with the addition of Henderson.

1. Rhamonde Stevenson
Stevenson has had a solid career in New England over the last four seasons. The former fourth-round draft pick has accounted for 3,066 yards with 21 touchdowns.
His best season came in 2022, when he rushed for 1,040 yards with five touchdowns. Last year, he had another productive season, getting 207 carries with 801 yards and seven touchdowns, although he did have six fumbles.
The Patriots extended Stevenson's rookie contract before the 2024 season, and his four-year $36 million contract will go through 2028. He's used as a between-the-tackles running back primarily, but he does well in the passing game, as well. Over four seasons, he's accounted for 950 receiving yards with two scores.
2. TreVeyon Henderson
Henderson could have been an early-round draft pick a year ago, but he chose to come back to Ohio State for one other season. The decision paid off, as he helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship. He also had his second 1,000-yard season of his career, getting 1,016 yards with 10 touchdowns. He also averaged a career-high 7.1 yards per carry.
In his OSU career, he finished with 3,761 rushing yards with 42 touchdowns. Henderson also found ways to be utilized in the passing game in Columbus, getting 77 receptions for 853 yards and six touchdowns. Although Henderson, like his new teammate Stevenson, typically runs up the middle, he has some serious top-end speed. He'll complement Stevenson's style quite well in New England.

3. Antonio Gibson
Gibson started his career at Washington before going to the Patriots as a free agent last season. He was a solid backup to Stevenson, getting 120 carries for 520 yards and a touchdown. His current contract with the Patriots will put him through the 2026 season.
4. Terrell Jennings
The former undrafted free agent out of Florida A&M signed with New England before the 2024 season. He didn't see too many touches, getting just 13 carries for 33 yards.
