Adrian Peterson legal issues

Peterson has dealt with a variety of legal issues in his career.

In 2014, while still playing for the Vikings, Peterson was arrested and charged with felony child abuse when he used a tree branch as a switch on his four-year-old son. Peterson would ultimately plead no contest on a charge of misdemeanor reckless assault, and he was given a two-year probation, a $4,000 fine, 80 hours of community service and a suspension by the NFL.

In 2022, Peterson was again arrested, this time for domestic violence against his wife at Los Angeles International Airport. Peterson was released on $50,000 bail, and Ashley Peterson decided not to press charges, leading to the police dropping the charge.
