Would the Toronto Blue Jays ever trade one of their top players to the New York Yankees? Perhaps not, but crazier has certainly happened around Major League Baseball, and nothing can be counted out.

The Blue Jays have a below-average farm system, and while the Yankees don't necessarily have prospects to wow them, if they're willing to part ways with some of their top guys, there could be a scenario where the Blue Jays take a deal.

The Blue Jays' focus has to be on the long term, and even if that means trading somebody like Bo Bichette to the Yankees, it could help them out in the future.

With Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on a long-term extension now, the Blue Jays' plan has to be to find talent around him.

By trading for prospects, the Blue Jays could take a different approach heading into the next few months and try to retool in the offseason with blockbuster deals.

Those prospects would help them out significantly.

Greg Amsinger of MLB Network considers Bichette one of the top 10 trade candidates in Major League Baseball, and his reasoning makes sense, and the Yankees might make even more.

“You ready for a shocker? Number nine is Bo Bichette. He didn't get a $500 million contract extension. His teammate, Vladdy, did. I know he doesn't have a home run yet. I get it. He's hitting .290. I think he's looking more comfortable at the plate. I don't think the Blue Jays are going to the World Series. Sorry, Dan, please, Zach. I think Bo makes the list at number nine,” Amsinger said

The one question with Bichette would be whether he'd be willing to move to second or third base.

Throughout his MLB career, he hasn't appeared at any other position besides shortstop, making the fit a bit questionable.

However, if he has the tools to move to second or third, Jazz Chisholm Jr. could play the other position, giving the Yankees much-needed offensive firepower.
