The New York Jets landed the seventh pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft after finishing their 2024 season with a 5-12 record and in third place in the AFC East. With that pick, the Jets selected Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou.
Membou committed to the University of Missouri in 2022 after playing his high school football at Lee's Summit High School in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
The 21-year-old appeared in 35 games and started 29 over the last three years with the Tigers. According to Pro Football Focus, he played 1,964 collegiate snaps and played 1,963 of them at right tackle (the lone other snap came at left guard in 2024).

Membou earned Second-team All-SEC honors and a career-best 90.6 overall grade from PFF for his performance this last year.
For Jets fans looking to know what they can expect from Membou on the field each week, here's a collection of some of his best moments at Missouri.
Last year, the Jets allowed quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor to be sacked on 6.18% of their dropbacks, which was the 13th in the NFL last season, and that rate could've been much worse if not for Rodgers' ability to throw the ball away when in danger.

With Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses leaving this offseason, and 2024 first-round pick Olu Fashanu likely flipping back to the left side (where he played in college), Membou will probably be named New York's starting right tackle as a rookie.
He'll be part of a unit that will have the important responsibility of protecting new starting quarterback Justin Fields, whom the Jets signed to a two-year, $40 million deal this offseason.
If Membou can help keep Fields upright and provide some running lanes for Breece Hall and company, New York could start to climb in the AFC East and potentially even challenge for a playoff spot. That's a lofty goal, but it's not unrealistic in a division that could see the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills take another step back in 2025.
