Buccaneers' 464-pound Desmond Watson reveals shocking new weight after promise while leaving Florida image

Desmond Watson left Florida at an official weight of 464 pounds.

He signed after the NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And now, he revealed to reporters on Friday, he's no longer 464 pounds.

Watson has dropped 27 pounds. He now weighs 437.

"I weighed 437 late last week," Watson said. "That's the journey I've got to take to be successful. It's good for clicks to be the biggest player ever, but to be successful I have to lose some weight. I'm changing habits and things like that to get there."

Watson wants to keep going.

"I have a long journey to go. Even though I've made good progress so far, I've got a long journey to go," Watson said. "I think I move pretty well for my size, and I might not have to get down to the average D-tackle."

Watson shared before the NFL Draft that teams looking into him wanted him to drop weight.

Now he's proven that he can do it, too.

The heaviest players in NFL history to appear in the regular season were 380 pounds, so Watson still can set a record if he makes the Bucs.

But he'll do it at a slightly more sleek weight total.
