Colin Kaepernick broke out his San Francisco 49ers colors on Monday night.

Joined by his girlfriend Nessa Diab at the Met Gala, Kaepernick looked sharp in red and black.

Could his desired comeback still be in the works?

In April, Diab told TMZ Sports that Kaepernick is still "training regularly, hoping an NFL GM will give him a shot to show he's still got what it takes to lead a football team."

Kaepernick is 37 years old now.

The last official NFL workout for Kaepernick was in 2022 for the Raiders. He also worked out for the Seahawks in 2020.

The Chargers offered Kaepernick a coaching job last season under his former head coach, Jim Harbaugh, but he didn't take it.

Kaepernick was once one of the most exciting talents in the NFL, a dual-threat quarterback who led the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance.

He threw 72 touchdowns in six seasons and ran for another 13, all with the 49ers.

His choice to kneel during the playing of the national anthem as a form of protest made him a controversial figure in the NFL, and it certainly played a role in his chances of sticking in the league.

It's highly unlikely that Kaepernick ever comes back now.

But he still looks mighty sleek in that 49ers fit with the cape on.
