The Indianapolis Colts used their first selection on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft to bolster the offensive line.
Before the pick, the Colts initiated their first trade of the entire draft, moving back 10 spots in a deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
With that new selection, the Giants took Iowa State offensive tackle Jalen Travis with the No. 127 overall pick.
Though the Colts already have a budding star at left tackle in the form of Bernhard Raimann, there are question marks on the other side of the line given that Braden Smith is going into the final year of his contract.
Travis, 6-foot-7 and 339 pounds, spent most of his collegiate career at Princeton where he appeared in 22 games (14 starts) at left tackle. He transferred to Iowa State for the 2024 season where he allowed one sack and 11 total pressures on 475 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
Here's what Dane Brugler of The Athletic said about Travis in his draft guide:
"Overall, Travis' balance and anchor issues will be catnip for savvy NFL defenders, but he is relatively athletic for a body that size and strong as hell to secure blocks once in position. He has developmental potential as an NFL swing tackle."
Day 3 is all about adding depth and upside to the roster, and Travis certainly fits the bill of a player who can provide value if he develops.
