Fresh off leading UConn to a national championship and being selected first overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2025 WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers is closing one chapter and beginning another.

The 6’0 guard leaves behind a historic legacy: she’s UConn’s all-time leader in scoring average, third in total career points, the fastest player in program history to reach 2,000 points and holds the program record for most points scored in NCAA Tournament games.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Bueckers reflected on her unforgettable five-year journey in Storrs: “These past five years have been some of the most rewarding, challenging and blessed years of my life."
She went on to highlight the lifelong impact of her time as a Husky: “From the relationships that will last a lifetime, memories and experiences I’ll never forget, and a growing in Faith that has changed my life. The support and love has meant everything to me and I wouldn’t have been able to make it through without it.”
Bueckers ended her message with deep gratitude to the UConn community. “From all my sisters that I played with, to everyone in the program, you are all family for life.”

With her college career ending in a storybook fashion, Bueckers now steps onto the WNBA stage, carrying both an unmatched legacy and the hopes of a bright professional future.
