Just one point and one place apart in the bottom half of the Premier League table, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur meet at the London Stadium on Sunday with pride—and damage control—on the line.

While West Ham have had a full week to unpack their painful 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, Spurs are riding the high of a 3-1 first-leg win over Bodø/Glimt in the Europa League semifinals, where they also scored the fastest goal ever in the competition’s final four.

That boost, though, comes on the heels of a brutal 5-1 hammering at Anfield—Tottenham’s 19th league loss of the campaign. One more, and Ange Postecoglou makes unwanted history as the first Spurs boss to hit 20 defeats in a single top-flight season.

A likely final date with Manchester United looms in Europe, but in the league, both sides are fighting to stay afloat.

West Ham vs. Tottenham predicted lineups, team news

Tottenham’s Europa League win came with a hefty price tag. Goalscorers James Maddison and Dominic Solanke both picked up knocks in the second half against Bodø/Glimt, and while neither injury appears catastrophic, Maddison’s condition is under review as he awaits scan results. Solanke is expected to sit out the second leg as a precaution.

Things look worse for Lucas Bergvall, who was spotted on crutches after injuring his ankle in training. Ange Postecoglou has already ruled the youngster out for the rest of the season. Skipper Son Heung-min remains sidelined with a foot issue, while Radu Dragusin continues his long road back from an ACL tear.

Postecoglou made eight changes for last weekend’s demolition at Anfield, and with injuries piling up and rotation needed ahead of Thursday, don’t be surprised if he rings the changes again on Sunday.

Tottenham predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Vicario (GK) — Gray, Danso, Davies, Spence — Kulusevski, Sarr, Bissouma — Odobert, Richarlison, Tel.

Injured: James Maddison (doubtful), Dominic Solanke, Lucas Bergvall, Son Heung-min.
Suspended: None.

While Spurs might be without Solanke, West Ham are set to regain firepower up front with Evan Ferguson back in the mix. The striker sat out the 3-2 loss to Brighton due to loan restrictions but should slot straight back into the squad for Sunday.

There was no fresh word on Edson Alvarez in Graham Potter’s press conference, but signs point to the midfielder being in contention after a back issue. Michail Antonio (leg) and Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) remain long-term absentees.

With Tottenham juggling injuries and European distractions, Potter may tweak his setup to go on the front foot—possibly ditching a centre-back to bring Niclas Füllkrug into a more attacking 4-2-3-1 shape after last weekend's 3-5-2.

West Ham predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Areola (GK) —  Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson — Soucek, Alvarez — Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus — Fullkrug.

Injured: Edson Alvarez, Michail Antonio, Crysencio Summerville
Suspended: none
