After a long offseason that included a head coach, general manager and quarterback change, the New York Jets are ready for the 2025 NFL draft, which begins on Thursday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Following a rough 2024 season that saw them finish with a 5-12 record and in third place in the AFC East (only ahead of the 4-13 New England Patriots), the Jets hold the seventh overall pick in the first round and have positioned themselves to add a talented player to improve their roster for the upcoming season and beyond.
In total New York has eight selections heading into the draft. Six of them are their own, but they have two others from the Mike Williams and Mecole Hardman trades.
They also sent their original third-round pick (No. 92) to the Detroit Lions in a trade last year and sent their own seventh-round pick (No. 225) in the Hardman trade with Kansas City.

What time will Jets make first-round pick?
Even though the Jets have an early pick in the first round, fans will likely still have to wait some time before they hear the announcement of pick No. 7 from Roger Goodell on the stage.
In 2024, the Tennessee Titans had the same selection. and the announcement that the team was taking Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham came in at 9:01 p.m. ET, so expect this year's pick to come around then.
There is, however, a chance that the picks in front of New York get moved or go quickly, so fans should be watching 15 minutes or so beforehand and may need to wait awhile after the top of the hour just in case.
