New York City FC has announced the signing of forward Sean Okoli from FC Cincinnati of the USL.
Okoli, 23, was named the USL MVP in 2016 after a Golden Boot-winning season in which he scored 16 goals in 29 games.

“I’m really happy to welcome Sean to this club as he is a talented striker who we believe has an exciting future in the game," NYCFC coach Patrick Vieira told the club's website. “To win the Golden Boot and to be named as MVP in USL at his age are great achievements and so I’m looking forward to working with him in preseason and throughout next year.”
Okoli returns to MLS after failing to make a mark with the Seattle Sounders and New England Revolution. The Washington native signed as a homegrown player with the Sounders in 2014 but made just four appearances in all competitions for Seattle. In 2015, he made five appearances with the Revolution.
