The San Francisco 49ers are in a good spot right now and don't necessarily need to make another addition before the 2024 season kicks off.
San Francisco made it to the Super Bowl last year, although it fell against the Kansas City Chiefs. Much of the roster still is intact and the 49ers have a chance to make their way back to the Super Bowl again. While this is the case, it wouldn't hurt to add some more veteran depth on the offensive line.
Bleacher Report put together a massive list of each National Football League franchise and their biggest needs ahead of the 2024 season. They mentioned depth on the offensive line as a need for the 49ers and linked them to free-agent tackle Cameron Erving.
"Add Now: OL Cameron Erving," Bleacher Report stated. "The 49ers offensive line isn't great outside of Trent Williams, and he is currently holding out of training camp for a new contract. Plus, the offense could use some help on the interior so bringing in a veteran like Erving, who has experience playing all five positions, as an insurance policy wouldn't be a bad idea."
San Francisco already is in a good place, but the offensive line could use some work. The 49ers are going to rely heavily on the running game with superstar running back Christian McCaffrey so they should be considering all ways to make his life easier.
Landing someone like Erving may not be a complete game-changer for the 49ers, but a move would help.
