With the 2025 NFL Draft just days away, ESPN's Adam Schefter has delivered big news related to the Denver Broncos.
Schefter has laid out that the Broncos are on a short list of team's inquiring about trades to move up in the first round of the draft. This is exciting news for Broncos Country, as the general belief has been that the team would remain conservative in the first round, perhaps even trading back.
But if the team is looking at a move up the board, that presents some exciting options. Are the Broncos looking to land a player like Ashton Jeanty? Perhaps even Tyler Warren? If a trade up is being considered, those would be the players the team could be looking at.
"There has been, however, a lack of teams willing to trade up -- at least so far. Denver is one of those: The Broncos have made inquiries about moving up in Round 1, according to sources. But there aren't many others. This always could change when players start falling and teams are on the clock", wrote Schefter.
Schefter is one of the most trusted and reliable sources in the NFL media world. If he is reporting this, he has absolutely heard it. But you can never take a report like that as though its the gospel whenever Sean Payton is involved as he could just as easily be looking to throw up a smokescreen to get other teams off his scent in this class.
The running back position is the spot that has been talked about the most in relation to this year's draft and the Broncos, at least in recent weeks. North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton has been sent to the Broncos in nearly every recent mock draft that is out there.

If Payton agrees that the team should be aggressive in getting a running back this year, the team could be looking at Heisman runner-up Jeanty or it could be looking to ensure if gets Hampton. One team they would have to be wary of is the Dallas Cowboys, who hold the No. 12 overall pick.
How high would the Broncos be looking to move up and what would that deal cost? It will be interesting to see if this report becomes reality and if it does, which prospect the Broncos have set in their crosshairs.
