The Indianapolis Colts wrapped up their 2025 NFL draft with three selections in the sixth and seventh rounds.

They had back-to-back picks in the sixth round. Starting with Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard at the No. 189 slot then they followed it up with Alabama defensive tackle Tim Smith at No. 190.

Indianapolis wrapped up Day 3 by selecting Wisconsin strong safety Hunter Wohler with the No. 232 pick in the seventh round. What is notable is that he played as a safety but was listed as a linebacker when the pick was announced.

Here is what the three final picks in this draft class will bring to the Colts:

Starting with Leonard, Indianapolis is getting a dual-threat quarterback who brings a similar skill set as the current quarterbacks on the roster, Anthony Richardson Sr., and Daniel Jones. The addition of Leonard creates two quarterback competitions for training camp.

While Richardson Sr. and Jones battle it out for the starting quarterback job, Leonard will compete with second-year quarterback Jason Bean for the QB3 spot on the depth chart. If Leonard wins the job, and the worst-case scenario happens and he is forced to play, Shane Steichen can keep his offensive scheme intact because of his rushing ability.

For their second sixth-round pick, the Colts might have landed a potential backup at the one-tech spot to Grover Stewart in Smith. He can play on early downs because of his ability to defend the run. Smith also brings experience as a three-year starter for Alabama and is versatile with his history of playing across the defensive line.

Indy’s final pick of this draft class is an interesting selection. Similar to last year’s fifth-round pick Jaylon Carlies, Wohler was also a safety in college but will be transitioning to linebacker for the Colts. His coverage ability can help him make a case to make the final 53-man roster, and his solid tackling ability will be a factor as well.

What can solidify his chances to make the team as a seventh-round pick is through special teams.
