Christie Brinkley is a former Sports Illustrated model, actress, television personality, activist, and entrepreneur. Now, at 71, she’s adding a new memoir to her long list of accomplishments.
The book, “Uptown Girl,” is titled after the infamous Billy Joel song that Brinkley inspired. It is set to be released on Tuesday, April 29. The book will discuss Brinkley’s journey from being discovered outside a phone booth in Paris when she was just 20 to being launched into stardom. She would later enjoy one of the most massively successful modeling careers in American history.
In a new Instagram post shared on Thursday, April 24, Brinkley reflected back and shared a picture of her 14-year-old self. It was years before her career started, and she did not yet know what the future had in store for her.
“May 1968 I just turned 14. "Hey Jude" was my new favorite song and I never would have guessed that someday I would write a memoir! UPTOWN GIRL drops on the 29th of April …I hope you’ll check it out,” she captioned the post.
One fan commented on the post, posing an interesting question.
“What would you say to this girl?” they wrote.
Brinkley was quick to respond.
“DON’T SMOKE! Your health is your greatest wealth!” she answered.
