Sweet home, Alabama. Home of the NCAA beach volleyball championships, the competition returns to Gulf Shores for the 2025 national championship.
The Gulf Coast has hosted the competition since its inaugural match in 2016. While this year's tournament was originally scheduled to play in Huntington Beach, California, this year's wildfire impact resulted in moving the matches back to the East Coast.
Regardless, the Alabama shores remain an iconic venue for the programs and fans alike.
Could this year see someone new hoist the trophy? Since 2016, only two programs – USC and UCLA – have claimed the title, with the Trojans winning the past four championships. This season is full of parity, though, as plenty of squads have made their mark this season. Can Stanford win its first chip, or will TCU become the first non-California school to win it all? What about Florida State, the 2022 runner-up?

NCAA beach volleyball championships 2025 bracket
The NCAA beach volleyball championship bracket will be decided during the selection show on Sunday, April 27. Sixteen teams will head to Gulf Shores, eight as automatic qualifiers and eight as at-large bids.
The first round of the championship and quarterfinals will be single-elimination duals while the semifinals will be double-elimination style. The national championship dual will be single-elimination.
Each match will consist of five duals between pairs. The first school to three points, or dual wins, takes the victory.
