Saquon Barkley sounds off on reaction to viral White House photo with President Trump image

The Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to visit the White House on Monday to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX championship, and one of their superstar players flew in early for a round of golf wirh President Trump.

That player was Saquon Barkley, as a photo of the star Eagles running back found its way to social media and quickly went viral.

Barkley sounded off on people in his “mentions” on Monday with this message on his social accounts:

“lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT. Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day”

The Eagles did not visit the White House in 2018, following the first Super Bowl championship in franchise history, due to national anthem protests. Owner Jeffrey Lurie confirmed his team’s participation this year, calling it a “time-honored tradition.”
