Two undefeated teams will face off as No. 5 BYU visits No. 2 UC Irvine for a pair of highly-anticipated matches this week. 

Last week, BYU (6-0) was able to sweep No. 6 Ball State in back-to-back games, going five sets in each contest. The power-duo of outside hitters Keoni Thiim and Luke Benson both had career performances, tallying 23 kills apiece in the second match.

UC Irvine (3-0) had a week off after leaving its first three opponents unanswered during the UCSB Invitational—the Anteaters swept Menlo, Tusculum, and Missouri S&T. Despite having played fewer matches, UC Irvine still sits above BYU in the national rankings at No. 2. 

These two programs have battled many times, with BYU leading the overall series 22-16.
