Nets' Cam Johnson hints at desire for trade to Western Conference powerhouse image

Cam Johnson already made one move from West to East when he was dealt from the Phoenix Suns to the Brooklyn Nets.

Johnson is hoping for a reverse trip, sort of.

The Nets star didn't come right out and say it, but he spent a lot of time recently praising the Oklahoma City Thunder. He'd be silly not to think about the idea of playing with such a complete team that is the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

"They've been dominant," Johnson said recently. "If you spot every team nine points when they play them, they're still [at 54 wins]. That's unreal. That team has been great all season."

It's remarkable that Johnson knows a winning-margin stat about the Thunder. Maybe he really does want to come to town.

Johnson would be a great fit for OKC's system, if the Nets make him available.

The big wing shot 39 percent from 3-point range in 2024-25 en route to averaging 18.3 points per game.

Length and shooting ability are always in demand in the NBA, and Johnson has both.

Most players would enjoy getting traded to the Thunder at least from a basketball perspective, because winning is fun.

OKC isn't the place for everyone, but Johnson sure seems to like the idea of it.
