Odds to win 2024 College World Series
Tennessee, the No. 1 overall seed, did drop a game to Evansville in the super regional but won the decisive Game 3 to make it to Omaha. The Volunteers remain the favorites to win the College World Series (+290 at DraftKings).
Texas A&M (+330) is a close second behind Tennessee, but the Aggies' odds have lengthened a bit with injury concerns. While there are no mid-major programs in the field this year, there are still underdogs, with Florida (+1200) having the longest price to win the College World Series.
- Tennessee +290
- Texas A&M +350
- Kentucky +450
- North Carolina +650
- Florida State +800
- NC State +900
- Virginia +1000
- Florida +1300
College World Series betting lines
The eight-team College World Series is a double-elimination format, with four teams on each side of the bracket. The teams on each side of the bracket to advance face one another in a best-of-three series in the CWS final.
Here are betting lines, analysis, game times and TV info for the early matchups.
No. 12 Virginia (46-15) vs. No. 4 North Carolina (47-14)
- Odds (BetMGM): Virginia +110 | UNC -145
- Game time and TV: Friday 2 p.m. ET, ESPN
This is the fourth matchup of the season between these ACC rivals. The Cavaliers won the regular-season series, taking two out of three at home against the Tar Heels. In the NCAA Tournament, the Tar Heels have looked like a team of destiny, though, coming up with late-inning heroics multiple times to stay alive. With a star player like Vance Honeycutt leading the way in the lineup, North Carolina has the hitting advantage.
UNC holds the pitching advantage with a deeper staff, but Virginia has the best starter in Evan Blanco (92.2 innings with a 3.69 ERA this season). He is the likely starter for Virginia, the Cavaliers will need him to be his best to upset the Tar Heels.
No. 8 Florida St. (47-15) vs. No. 1 Tennessee (55-12)
- Odds (FanDuel): FSU +132 | Tennessee -170
- Friday 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
The Seminoles have turned it around in just one season, going from missing the tournament last season to making it to the College World Series this year. They face a loaded Tennessee squad, the favorite to win the national championship. If Florida State can pull off the upset, it would immediately put them in the driver's seat on its side of the bracket.
The 'Noles have to deal with one of the most dangerous lineups in baseball, led by Christian Moore, who has 32 home runs this season to go with 71 RBIs. It will be interesting to see who pitches for the Volunteers, as they have several good options. Florida State is likely to go with Jamie Arnold, who has been dominant this year with a 2.77 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 100.2 innings pitched.
No. 10 NC State (38-21) at No. 2 Kentucky (45-14)
- Odds (Caesars Sportsbook): NC State +115 | Kentucky -145
- Saturday 2 p.m. ET ESPN
The Wolfpack upset Georgia to get to Omaha, but the Wildcats of Kentucky are waiting on them. While each squad has been playing its best baseball of the season, Kentucky should have the starting pitching advantage. NC State does not have an ace on its staff, while Kentucky will likely throw Trey Pooser, who can shut down any opponent. He has thrown 83.1 innings this season and struck out 79 batters.
Florida (34-28) at No. 3 Texas A&M (49-13)
- Odds (BetRivers): Florida +175 | Texas A&M -240
- Saturday 7 p.m. ET ESPN
Florida is a strong program, and while the Gators did not have a great regular season, they have gotten hot at the right time. Texas A&M is a familiar opponent, and Florida has won two of this season's three meetings. Jac Caglianone will be vital in this game as the likely starting pitcher for Florida while also hitting in the middle of the lineup as one of the best two-way players in college baseball. Expect Ryan Prager to get the baseball for the Aggies, but after giving up six runs in 1.2 innings in his last start, he must be better on Saturday for A&M to win.
