Rangers' Joc Pederson finally snaps embarrassing hitless streak image

Texas Rangers outfielder Joc Pederson is a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion. However, Pederson's 2025 MLB season got off to a brutal start.

Entering Wednesday night, Pederson was hitting just .052 with a grand total of three hits all season long. Yes, through the first few weeks of the season, Pederson had three hits and 16 strikeouts.

Going into Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Pederson was riding an embarrassing 0-for-41 streak and getting eerily close to the MLB record. For what it's worth, the record is Chris Davis, who went 0-for-54 with the Baltimore Orioles during the 2019 season.

Well, lo and behold, Pederson ended the streak with a pinch-hit double in the ninth inning.

Pederson hit the ball off Mason Miller and it went right over the center fielder, although he was almost thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.

Once he stood up, he was elated to finally break the 0-for-41 streak, and the last time he recorded a hit was all the way back on April 2, which was six days before the NCAA Tournament title game, so that shows how long it had been.

Pederson set the Rangers franchise record for the longest hitless streak, but it's good news that he has escaped the unfortunate MLB mark set by Davis. In the end, the Rangers lost the game, although Pederson can breathe a big sigh of relief and try and bounce back from a frustrating start.
