The Philadelphia 76ers just wrapped one of their worst seasons since the 2016-17 season. Due to all of their injuries, they finished as the worst rebounding team in the NBA

To address their rebounding woes, Nicolas Kyle Pring of The Sixers Sense believes the 76ers should consider signing Houston Rockets center Steven Adams in free agency this offseason.

"Despite his near-lack of individual offense, Adams is the league’s prime offensive rebounder. And if the market for his services turn out to be a bit staler than expected, the 76ers should do whatever it takes to secure his services," Pring wrote.

Although Adams is not the player he once was, he is still a great rebounder. After being sidelined with a sprained PCL in his right knee to end his tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2023, Adams has regressed in terms of statistical output. Even though he doesn't play as much as he used to, he is still one of the best rebounders in the league.

Andre Drummond was brought to Philadelphia to add some depth to their frontcourt and give Joel Embiid some help off the bench. With his injury history and durability concerns, Embiid could use some help from his backup to help take some pressure off of him when he does return. Drummond was supposed to fill that void, but he hasn't lived up to the hype.

Since both Drummond and Adams are 31 years old, there is no age advantage in comparison. Their stats are pretty similar, but Drummond averages around 5-6 more minutes per game. In an increased role, Adams may be able to get his rebounds closer to where he was just a couple of years ago.

If Philadelphia can convince Adams to sign for cheaper than Drummond's $10 million, $5 million per season contract, it could work for both sides. The 76ers already got Drummond on a budget, but if they want to truly take some pressure off Embiid or get someone to fill the void while he recovers from surgery, they may have to spend a little more.
