The Kansas Chiefs have had a busy offseason to deal with. They will have plenty of offseason decisions to make on some key free agents.

The Chiefs are coming off of a tough loss in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles where they were unable to complete NFL history by becoming the first team to three-peat.

This leads them to an offseason where several key players are set to hit free agency — one of these key players being running back Kareem Hunt.

Hunt was drafted by the Chiefs in 2017 and spent a year with the team before he was cut in 2018. The team ultimately brought Hunt back in 2024 after running back Isiah Pacheco suffered an injury.

Hunt went on to have a good season with the Chiefs, rushing for 728 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. But now Hunt is set for free agency and fans are wondering if the team will look to bring back the veteran.

His teammate, tight end Travis Kelce, certainly hopes the team brings Hunt back. The superstar tight end made a plea to the Chiefs on his "New Heights" podcast regarding Hunt’s status.

"I (really) love that guy," Kelce said of Hunt, using an expletive. "I want to win one for that guy so bad."

Hunt showcased his value to the team last season by leading his team in scrimmage yards.

With Pacheco’s status on the Chiefs being up in the air, the option of being back Hunt on a short deal is possible.
