The Milwaukee Bucks might need to consider what they are going to do for their future, as it is looking grim. A few failed playoff runs after winning it all in 2021, and now having an aging, injured roster, with no future picks will force the front office to make some hard decisions, including what to do with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
However, there may be an easy fix. Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley proposed the Bucks trade with the Houston Rockets on draft night, and draft Derik Queen from the University of Maryland. They also would get a few stars from the Rockets as well, in a trade that would look like this:
Rockets get: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks get: 2025 NBA Draft pick No. 9 (Derik Queen), Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., Reed Sheppard, Cam Whitmore, a 2027 first-round pick (from PHO) and a 2028 first-round pick (top-three protected)
“[Queen’s] skills are unique and maybe a tricky fit at first, since he won't arrive with elite explosiveness or a reliable outside shot. He is, however, a super-skilled face-up player with great hands, excellent vision and slippery handles. He has true offensive-hub potential, and his upside might be lofty enough for Milwaukee to construct its post-Giannis plans around him,” Buckley wrote.
This trade works for both sides. The Rockets get a true superstar to pair with Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson in the frontcourt, and the Bucks trade their aging roster for a young one about to enter it’s prime. It’s a win-win.

If the Bucks are smart, they make this happen. It will give them their future back, and load their roster with insane potential and talent. Hopefully, they get on the phone with the Rockets as soon as the playoffs are over, and get to work on making a deal.
